Glazed tile of 20x15 cm based on a sketch by the advertiser António Cruz Caldas. Part of the collection of mini-replicas of old advertising tiles, all with similar dimensions.
The sketch is available at the Porto Municipal Archive and relates to an advertisement for Borrajo Port Wine. The entire set is absolutely delightful. The scale of the giant walking through Peso da Régua and carefully holding an equally colossal bottle, the typography... the entire painting deserves attention and is a testament to the advertising culture of the time related to Port Wine.
About the production
Printing with ceramic pigments on glazed tiles at a temperature exceeding 930ºC, ensuring the durability of the colour even in outdoor environments.
