Description
Glazed tile of 20x15 cm based on work carried out by workers of the Fapobol Tire Factory commission in 1978. Commemoration of the 50th anniversary of April 25th, 1974.
Based on a poster designed by literate workers at the CEEC – Center for Education and Culture Studies. Titled “Long live the 25th of April!” it is written in popular quatrains, accompanied by a photograph of a group of soldiers with carnations in their rifles, taken in Lisbon during the revolution, prominently featuring Captain Salgueiro Maia. In 1970, 1 in every 4 Portuguese could not read or write.
About the production
Printing with ceramic pigments on glazed tiles at a temperature exceeding 930ºC, ensuring the durability of the colour even in outdoor environments.
