On March 25, 2019, this panel was subject to a cleaning operation authorized by the building's owners. The team would like to thank them for so kindly accommodating our request and allowing this action to take place to restore the colors to this Mabor General panel.
In August 2023, the Collective for the Defense of Advertising Tiles became aware that this panel was at risk. After discussions with the new owner of the building, it was concluded that the best option would be to remove the panel from this location. Thanks to the collaboration with the Association of Friends of the National Tile Museum, it was possible to raise the necessary funds and receive support from the restoration team of the National Tile Museum.
This joint effort resulted in a small victory for the preservation of our graphic heritage: the Mabor General panel will be incorporated into the collection of the National Tile Museum after a restoration operation. This institution, which had already recognized a gap in its exhibitions regarding advertising works, will see this addition as an important step in representing this facet of tiles in its offerings to the public.
